The implementation of the Alpes 2030 Olympic Olympic Olympic Game Committee is more complex than expected. After the many twists and turns around the appointment of Edgar Grospiron, the appointment of the Director General, initially expected this Monday, was finally repelled for a week, while the urgency is felt.
The roadmap seemed clear, however: appointment scheduled for Monday evening following an executive office, then the first press conference scheduled for Wednesday in Lyon on Wednesday. But as often with Alpes- 2030, the calendar has not been respected and the designation was deferred.
According to several sources, Cyril Linette, former boss of the PMU and the team, would hold the rope. And according to an elected official wishing to keep anonymity, “this postponement is not due to a disagreement on the name”. “It is a bit amateur, but it is rather a communication hiccup. It is revealing, however: for the moment, the structure is not operational and it emergency,” he adds.
Coincidence or not, Pierre Moscovici, president of the Court of Auditors, took advantage of the presentation of his report on the 2023 rugby World Cup, Tuesday morning, to send a direct review to Alpes- 2030. He said the recommendations concerning the clarification of the rules of appointment at the head of the organizational committees applied “as a priority” to the Olympic project.
The official appointment should now be acted on April 14, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Solideo headquarters, the company in charge of Olympic infrastructure in Marseille.
This appointment is impatiently awaited by several elected officials engaged in the project, who are concerned about the prolonged absence of a managing director, and more generally of an even hesitant organization.

“This will accelerate things, notably with the recruitment of the various executive directors,” says a government source.
“You have to whistle a little the end of the recess because it all floated a little,” recognizes a source close to Alpes 2030.
Once the director general stationed, Edgar Grospiron will be able to focus more effectively on the map of competition sites – one of his priority sites – whose presentation is expected on June 23. And the subject promises to be particularly delicate.
The discussions continue behind the scenes to spare the sensitivities and expectations of elected officials, while two regions are concerned: Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
“At the time of ripening, everyone wants to try to get out of the game, and it discusses a lot, it's normal,” said this elected official on condition of anonymity.
At the beginning of April, during a lunch with journalists, Renaud Muselier, president of the PACA region, returned to a “discussion a strand out” with Laurent Wauquiez, then president of the ARA region, about the distribution of sites during the assembly of the application file.
The initial file given to the IOC identified four major competition centers: Nice, Briançon, Courchevel-Méribel- La Plagne, and Le Grand-Bornand.
In recent weeks, Val d'Isère, absent from the first version, seemed on the right track to be integrated, according to several sources. But Renaud Muselier wanted to qualify this perspective. “If you put Val-d'Isère, there will be Isola 2000”, he warned, by assessing around thirty million euros the cost of adding the Savoyard station, which Jean-Claude Killy wishes to see reintegrated.
“We will have to pay attention to that there is functional consistency,” also warns this elected official. “We finally understand that a lot of cities want to do the Olympic Games despite the criticisms, and it's pretty good. But be careful not to do anything. We should not break out this card more,” he pleads.
And for Edgar Grospiron, the faster the card will be stabilized, the more it can attack another crucial games: the search for partners. This financial lever is essential for a structurally in deficit event. The organizing committee aims at around 600 million euros in marketing income, while the State has confirmed a participation of 362 million euros on a global budget which should exceed 2 billion.
